A little about the Band

Queen, the largest British rock band in history with the permission of the Rolling Stones, shone on stages around the world for twenty years. The death of its leader Freddie Mecury in 1991 only increased the fame of this mythical group and raised Mercury to the altar of musical myths.

It all started in 1968, when guitarist Brian May and singer Tim Staffell, two Imperial College students, created a band called “Smile.” They were joined by Roger Taylor on drums.

They soon secured a contract with the record company Mercury Records, with whom they recorded their first demos in the studios. Following Staffell’s departure from Smile, a friend of his, Freddie Bulsara, joined the band.
